Coronavirus – 8 Simple Rules to follow

Coronavirus is highly contagious – your co-operation is essential for us to keep yourself and others, safe.

If you FEEL UNWELL DO NOT COME TO THE MASJID. Self isolate and call 111.

If you are infected, and still decide to come to the Masjid, consider that YOU may be the cause of the closure of the entire Masjid.

If public gatherings are banned by the Government in the coming weeks, we will have no option other than to limit numbers of Musallees at prayer times – or even temporarily close the mosque.

Remember – our Prophet (SAW) used to sneeze into his elbow or into his garments, thereby protecting others from germs. Therefore please, think not only of yourself but think also of others you may come into contact with.

EDUCATE YOURSELF on how to spot symptoms of Coronavirus:

  • respiratory symptoms
  • fever
  • cough
  • shortness of breath and breathing difficulties
  • Review the guidance from the NHS

If you have these symptoms, STAY AWAY FROM THE MOSQUE Stay at home and call 111, and follow the doctor’s advice.

WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP FOR 30 SECONDS BEFORE WUDHU.

If you feel well, and decide to come to the mosque, make sure that you perform your Wudhu (ablution) thoroughly,

DO NOT SHAKE HANDS/HUG/KISS
Greet each other from afar

BRING TISSUES WITH YOU
so if you have to cough or sneeze, you have tissues handy.

BRING A FULL SIZED PRAYER MAT to use in the prayer hall. This is to ensure the best hygiene as germs can linger on surfaces Please note – if you do not have a prayer mat, you may be asked to leave, both in the interests of your own, and others health & safety.

Consider if travel to the mosque on public transport is essential

For the most vulnerable (the elderly, those with medical conditions), it is safer to stay at home
